Most of what you need already exists. It is just spread across a Drive folder, a Notion page and a thread someone posted three weeks ago. Remly searches those places together and brings back the matching documents, each with the source it came from.

Finding the documents is half of it. When you want the answer rather than the reading, ask – and Remly writes it from the same indexed material, with the files it used attached so you can check it.
Aurora was granted a 15% discount on the brand strategy phase, capped at $15,000. Diana approved it on 19 April after the quarterly pricing review, and it is logged for re-review on 1 June.
The answer is built only from what you have connected, and every claim carries the file it came from. Slack is searched live rather than indexed, so it shows up in results but is never used as evidence for an answer.
That is the distinction Remly draws throughout: Find returns the matching files and sources, Ask writes the answer with citations. Same index underneath, so you pick what you want back rather than which tool to open.
What each one is built for
Glean is an enterprise work-assistant platform. It is bought by a company, deployed across a workforce, and priced by negotiation – the feature set and the governance around it are built for that scale.
Remly is the same core workflow – search everything you have connected, ask questions, get cited answers – sold to the person or small team who wants it, at a price on a public page. You can start it yourself this afternoon.
Which one you want depends on the question
If you need company-wide rollout, procurement review and enterprise governance, that is Glean’s territory and this page will not talk you out of it. If you want the search-and-ask workflow for yourself or a handful of people without a sales cycle, that is the gap Remly fills.
Pricing
Remly publishes its prices. Glean does not publish a list price, so the only figures available are third-party procurement benchmarks – they are reproduced here with that qualification attached, because an unlabelled number would be worse than none.

About those Glean figures
The median, range and user minimums above come from Vendr’s Glean marketplace page, last updated February 2026. They are anonymised procurement benchmarks from deals Vendr observed – not official Glean pricing, and not a universal minimum. Glean has not published a list price, and your quote could sit anywhere in or outside that range. We have deliberately not converted an annual contract into a per-person figure to compare against Remly’s monthly price: the two are not sold in the same units, and the arithmetic would be dishonest.
Remly’s own numbers are on the pricing page. The comparison above uses Pro, because Pro is the plan that includes connected apps. Lite ($10/month billed annually) covers the files on your Mac only.
Your Mac files, in the same search
One more thing worth knowing, once the connected-apps workflow is doing its job: Remly’s companion Mac app indexes folders you choose, so local files land in the same result list as everything else. Your files stay where they are – Remly does not keep copies – and you decide per folder whether that index stays on your machine or syncs to Remly’s cloud.
Remly is not unusual in reaching local files, and we are not going to claim otherwise. Glean announced Glean Tau, a desktop app combining local files with its enterprise context, on 26 August 2026. At the time we checked, Glean’s own post listed Tau under “Coming soon” and noted that purchasing decisions should be based on generally available features. If that has changed since, this section is out of date – tell us.

Blank spots are deliberate. Where we could not verify something about Glean from public documentation, the cell says so rather than guessing – and we would rather be told we are wrong than publish a confident claim we cannot back.
Questions people ask
Is Remly a drop-in replacement for Glean?
No. If you need company-wide deployment, procurement review and enterprise governance, Glean is built for that and Remly is not. Remly covers the search-and-ask workflow for individuals and small teams, self-serve.
How much does Glean actually cost?
Glean does not publish a list price, so nobody outside a Glean sales conversation can tell you. The Vendr benchmarks quoted above are the best public signal we found, and they are procurement observations rather than a price list.
Which Remly plan do I need to search connected apps?
Pro. Lite covers the files on your Mac; Pro adds the connectors, cloud sync across devices, and the MCP server. Both start with a 7-day free trial – see pricing.
Does Remly use my work to train AI models?
No, and neither does its AI provider. There is no setting that turns it on. The detail is on the security page and in the privacy policy.
What happens to my files?
They stay where they are. Remly indexes them rather than copying them, connectors are read-only, and you choose per folder whether a local index syncs to the cloud.
